Growing up in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Brent started playing guitar at 6 years old, and by the time he was 10, he was fronting his own 3-piece band. 

He moved to Nashville in 2005, and since then, he has written songs recorded by artists such as Scotty McCreery, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Dustin Lynch, Cole Swindell, John Morgan, Dillon Carmichael, Jameson Rodgers and many others. 

He has also produced songs for artists such as Chris Janson, Jameson Rodgers, John Morgan and Connor McCutcheon and his vocals and guitar playing have been featured on many artist projects such as Lainey Wilson, Jameson Rodgers and Brad Paisley to name a few.
